HIKING AROUND DESERT

DAY 1

Our Rumshines guide meets you at the Wadi Rum Resthouse at 10:00 am and then your trip itinerary is explained. All of our guides are local Bedouins with a lifetime of desert experience.

You leave Rum Village and travel to Lawrence’s Spring where you can see rock inscriptions before proceeding to the Anfashieh Inscriptions, Lawrence’s House and then Burdah Rock Bridge where we stop to enjoy lunch and a rest. Following lunch we climb to the top of the Burdah Arch for spectacular views (this hike takes roughly two to three hours). The day proceeds with a journey to the camp to experience the spectacular Wadi Rum sunset before settling into a night filled with traditional food, tea, singing, stories and dancing that will leave memories to last a lifetime.

DAY 2

After a vitalizing breakfast we travel by jeep to Jebel Al Hash for a wonderful three to four hour hike up the mountain. Your efforts are rewarded as the views from the top are some of the most beautiful in Wadi Rum. Following the  hike we will have lunch before journeying onward to the valley of Wadi Nuqra (a thirty minute round trip) before returning to the camp for another memorable Bedouin night.

DAY 3

Following breakfast we travel by jeep to Jebel Um Dami, the tallest mountain in Jordan. Following an easy four hour hike to the summit you have time to take in the sweeping views to Saudi Arabia. We then enjoy a well deserved lunch before returning to Rum Village.

If you need to return at an earlier time in the morning we can arrange for you to travel by jeep to Rum Village after breakfast at 8am.
