Our guided walking tours are a gateway to places most tourists do not get to experience. Retrace old caravan trails, pausing to wonder at ancient writing carved into rocks. Appreciate the natural beauty of Wadi Rum as every step takes you further into the tranquility of the desert.

On our tour there will be plenty of stops for you to take photographs, also if you would like to arrange a shorter or longer tour please do not hesitate to contact us. Our goal is for you to have a memorable and enjoyable visit to Wadi Rum.

Walking in Wadi Rum

Walking tour 1: 2 days – 1 night

Day 1 :
Our Rumshines guide meets you at 10:00 am at Wadi Rum Resthouse and then your walking trip itinerary is explained. All of our guides are local Bedouins with a lifetime of desert experience.

We then walk to the tall sand dunes to see the Anfashieh Inscriptions. Here we eat lunch before walking to Lawrence’s House and the small arch, where we set up camp for the night.

Day 2 :
After breakfast we walk to Khazali Canyon and then onward to Lawrence’s Spring where further inscriptions can be seen. The walking tours ends with a final walk to Rum Village. If you need to return at an earlier time in the morning we can arrange for you to travel by Jeep to Rum Village after breakfast at 8am.

5-10 people 45 JD per person per day
10+ people 35 JD per person per day

Price includes: Bedouin guide, jeep for luggage transport, all the meals, tent, and mattress.
Price does not include: The entrance fee for Wadi Rum protected area paid at the visitors centre (5JD).
Payment is only in cash, preferably in Jordanian Dinar although Euro and US dollars are also accepted.  Please note there is no ATM in Wadi Rum.

Khazali canyon with people

Walking tour 2: 3 days – 2 nights

Day 1 :
A Rumshines guide meets you at Wadi Rum visitor’s centre at 10:00 am. The walking tour begins with a walk through the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, arriving in Um Ishrin valley for lunch and a rest before proceeding to the Burrah Canyon where you camp for the night. Over a traditional Bedouin dinner you will be regaled with stories and songs from the Bedouin culture.

Day 2 :
After breakfast we walk to the fertile Fig Valley where we stop to rest and enjoy lunch. We then walk to Um Frouth Rock Bridge which you can choose to climb. We then continue to Um Sabatah valley where we set up camp for the night.

Day 3 :
After breakfast we walk to the peaceful Khazali Canyon to see ancient Nabatean and Thamudic inscriptions and drawings before walking back to Rum Village.

If you need to return at an earlier time in the morning we can arrange for you to travel by jeep to Rum Village after breakfast at 8am.

Burdah bridge

Walking tour 3: 4 days – 3 nights

Day 1 :
Your Rumshines guide will meet you at the Wadi Rum visitor centre at 10:00 am and your walking tour begins with a walk through the Seven Pillars of Wisdom. We then arrive in Um Ishrin valley for lunch and a rest. In the afternoon we trek to the Burrah Canyon where we set up camp for the night.

Day 2 :
After breakfast we walk to Burdah Rock Bridge, also known as the High Bridge. We have lunch at the base before climbing to the top (approximately three hours with some scrambling). Camp will be set up at this site while you enjoy the walking tour.

Day 3 :
After breakfast we walk to the fertile Fig Valley where lunch is served and there is the opportunity to rest. We then proceed to Um Frouth Rock Bridge, which you can choose to climb. We then continue to Um Sabatah valley where you experience another wonderful Bedouin night.

Day 4 :
The day starts with a trek to the striking Khazali Canyon to see ancient Nabatean and Thamudic inscriptions. The walking tour ends with the walk back to Rum Village.

If you need to return at an earlier time in the morning we can arrange for you to travel by jeep to Rum Village after breakfast at 8am.­

Trekking in Wadi Rum

Walking tour 4: 5 days – 4 nights

Day 1 :
You will be met at the Wadi Rum visitor centre at 10:00 am by your Rumshines guide. The walking tour begins with a walk through the Seven Pillars of Wisdom arriving in the Um Ishrin valley for lunch and a rest. Once refreshed we will walk to the Burrah Canyon where we will camp for the night. Over a traditional Bedouin dinner you will be regaled with stories and songs from the Bedouin culture.

Day 2 :
After breakfast we will walk to Burdah Rock Bridge, also known as the High Bridge. We will have lunch at this site and you will have the opportunity to climb to the top (approximately three hours hike with some scrambling).  We will remain at this site for the night.

Day 3 :
Following breakfast we will walk to the fertile Fig Valley and the Um Frouth Rock Bridge. This bridge can be easily climbed and offers excellent photo opportunities. We will have lunch here and afterward will continue to Um Muqur, where we will set up camp for the night.

Day 4 :
After breakfast we will walk to Wadi Nuqra which offers an excellent view of Jebel Um Dami, the highest mountain in Jordan. Once we have rested and eaten lunch we will walk to the small canyon where the contrasting colours of the deserts can be appreciated before heading towards Um Sabatah, a site known for excellent sunsets.

Day 5 :
After breakfast we will walk to the peaceful Khazali Canyon and see ancient Nabatean and Thamudic inscriptions and drawings before continuing our walk back to Rum Village.

If you need to return at an earlier time in the morning we can arrange for you to travel by jeep to Rum Village after breakfast at 8am.
