The many desert mountains capture the gaze as your Rumshines hiking tour begins. Enjoy the sense of achievement as you reach one of the many summits allowing the peace of the desert to surround you.  For the adventurous among you, there is the option of climbing Jordan’s tallest mountain, Jebel Um Dami.  From the summit of this mountain you can view the Saudi Arabian border.

Our goal is for you to have a memorable and enjoyable visit to Wadi Rum so if there is anything additional we can do to meet your individual needs, please let us know.

Climb to Burdah

Hiking tour 1: 1 day – 1 night

Day 1 :
Our Rumshines guide meets you at the Wadi Rum Resthouse at 10:00 am and then your trip itinerary is explained. All of our guides are local Bedouins with a lifetime of desert experience.

From Rum Village we travel to the Burdah Rock Bridge for a three hour hike which is rewarded with spectacular views. After this hike we enjoy lunch in this area and rest before traveling to the fertile Fig Valley and Um Frouth Rock Bridge which you may also choose to climb (a much shorter ascent). This area provides for excellent photo opportunities before driving to our camp in time for the spectacular Wadi Rum sunset.

At camp you experience a true Bedouin night filled with traditional meals, sweet tea, singing, stories and dancing that will leave memories to last a lifetime.

Day 2 :
You may choose to rise early in time to see the sun rise over Wadi Rum before eating breakfast and traveling back to Rum Village by jeep at around 8am.

4+ people 55 JD per person per day

Price includes: all meals, jeep transport, Bedouin guide, and camp facilities.
Price does not include: The entrance fee for Wadi Rum protected area paid at the visitors centre (5JD).
Payment is only in cash, preferably in Jordanian Dinar although Euro and US dollars are also accepted.  Please note there is no ATM in Wadi Rum.

Hiking bedouin guide

Hiking tour 2: 2 days – 1 night

Day 1 :
Our Rumshines guide meets you at the Wadi Rum Resthouse at 10:00 am and then your trip itinerary is explained. All of our guides are local Bedouins with a lifetime of desert experience.

We then move into the desert by jeep to Lawrence’s Spring, this is where Lawrence of Arabia is believed to have sought refreshment, you may choose to climb up to see the spring or simply enjoy the surrounding and nearby rock inscriptions. We then journey onwards to picturesque sand dunes which are hard work to climb up but great fun to run or sand board down before continuing to the Anafashieh inscriptions.

We then travel to the fertile Fig Valley for a short hike before stopping to enjoy lunch. Once refreshed we continue to Um Frouth Rock Bridge which you may choose to climb for some excellent photo opportunities. Next, we walk in the beautiful area near the border of Saudi Arabia before heading to our camp to experience the stunning Wadi Rum sunset.

At the camp you will experience a traditional Bedouin night filled with typical food, sweet tea, singing, stories and dancing that will leave memories to last a lifetime.

Day 2 :
You may choose to wake early to take in the sunrise before enjoying breakfast. We then travel to the Burdah Rock Bridge where you have the opportunity to hike to the top (approximately three hour round trip with some scrambling). Following this, we enjoy a well deserved lunch before heading back to Rum Village by jeep.

If you need to return at an earlier time in the morning we can arrange for you to travel by jeep to Rum Village after breakfast at 8am.

 Hiking day in Wadi Rum

Hiking tour 3: 3 days – 2 nights

Day 1 :
Our Rumshines guide meets you at the Wadi Rum Resthouse at 10:00 am and then your trip itinerary is explained. All of our guides are local Bedouins with a lifetime of desert experience.

You leave Rum Village and travel to Lawrence’s Spring where you can see rock inscriptions before proceeding to the Anfashieh Inscriptions, Lawrences House and then Burdah Rock Bridge where we stop to enjoy lunch and a rest. Following lunch we climb to the top of the Burdah Arch for spectacular views (this hike takes roughly two to three hours). The day proceeds with a journey the camp to experience a true Wadi Rum sunset before settling into a night filled with traditional food, tea, singing, stories and dancing that will leave memories to last a lifetime.

Day 2 :
After a fortifying breakfast we travel by jeep to Jebel Al Hash for a wonderful three to four hour hike up the mountain. Your efforts are richly rewarded as the views from the top are some of the most beautiful in Wadi Rum. Following the  hike we will have lunch before journeying onward to the valley of Wadi Nuqra – a thirty minute hike, before returning to the camp for another memorable Bedouin night.

Day 3 :
Following breakfast we travel by jeep to Jebel Um Dami, the tallest mountain in Jordan. Following a repetitively easy four hour hike to the summit you have time to take in the sweeping views to Saudi Arabia. We then enjoy a well deserved lunch before returning to Rum Village.
